Get to Know Me Better

Today’s post is all about getting to know me better and random little facts about me.

Are you named after anyone?

According to my parents, they had originally named me something else until my dad left the hospital for a bit and heard an artist’s name (Jessie) on the radio. Once he got back to the hospital he told my mom he knew the perfect name for me. My middle name comes from my two grandmothers Margie and Faye = Maraye.

What is your favorite pastime?

Hands down it is watching sports. I grew up playing sports and loved everything about it. Most weekends/weeknights you can probably find me watching a game whether that be football, basketball, softball or baseball.

What is your Starbucks order?

I have went through several different coffees over the years, however currently I always go with the Grande Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew. You can not go wrong with this order. I am definitely an iced coffee person regardless if it is summer or winter.

Do you have any siblings?

Yes, I have one sister named Carlie. She is 15 months older than me. She is featured on the blog a lot and has her own corner where you can learn all about her med student journey.

Do you have any family traditions?

I have one family tradition that comes to my mind when asked this question. Every Thanksgiving, we go to Gatlinburg, TN to walk around and see the Christmas lights. This has been something we have done every Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember. There is a sleigh in the village that my mom has to get our picture in because that is what she always did when we were younger, so we continue going back to that sleigh every year to get that picture. We’ve joked about the day we walk into the village and the sleigh is no longer there LOL. My mom may have not found that as funny as we did.

Do you have any pets?

I do not have any pets right now. Growing up we had a cat named socks. She was gray with a white stomach and had white paws, hence the name socks. She loved being outside and exploring.

Do you collect anything?

If I was to say I collect anything, it’d have to be sneakers. Nike Sneakers for the most part. I’m not sure how many pairs I have at the moment, but it is a collection for sure. I like unique different looking sneakers and like to read about the background behind why they were created. If you are interested in some I’ve picked up over the years, check out my sneakers posts.

What is the one item on your bucket list that you would like to complete this year?

Learning how to snowboard or ski. Winter sports is one thing I’ve never done and have no clue about. I’d really like to learn more about it. This is one thing I actually put on my vision board for this year, I’d love to take a trip somewhere for a few days and take lessons.
